Murphy Receives Goldwater Fellowship

We are delighted to report that Ben Murphy (’13) is one of this year’s recipients of the prestigious Goldwater Fellowships, awarded nationally to students in recognition of their achievements in and commitments to science, mathematics and engineering. As a double major in Geology and Physics, Ben has worked on a diverse assemblage of research projects with Profs. Mawhorter (Physics), Lackey (Geology) and Grosfils (Geology) during his first three years at Pomona College, and is now looking ahead to thesis efforts in both departments and a career in geophysics.
